LG Java Platform Released!

LG Electronics (LG) has released the LG Java Platform. The LG Java Platform is the standard for describing the features of a particular Java implementation in LG mobile devices. LG Java Platform provides consistent support for Java ME requirements, JSR requirements, and JVM behavior across all LG mobile device tiers.

LG Java Platform makes it easier for developers to get information on the Java features of an LG mobile device and enables more efficient Java application development for LG mobile devices. It also provides developers with the opportunity to rapidly develop Java applications for LG mobile devices at low cost.

There are three base versions of LG Java Platform: LGJP1, LGJP2, and LGJP3. LG Java Platform ensures forward compatibility between platform versions.

· LGJP1 : Supports all the JSRs designated as required or optional in JSR 185 Java Technology for the Wireless Industry, along with some additional required or optional JSRs.

· LGJP2 : Supports all the JSRs designated as required or optional in JSR 248 Mobile Services Architecture Subset, along with some additional required or optional JSRs.

· LGJP3 : Supports all the JSRs designated as required or optional in JSR 248 Mobile Services Architecture Fullset, along with some additional required or optional JSRs.

As a first step to open LG Java Platform, LG will launch a high-tier device supporting LG Java Platform version 3 (LGJP3) in Q1 2010. LG will soon release new LG mobile phones that support LG Java Platform.
