The LG Mobile Developer Network is managed and run by the Mobile Handset R&D Center of LG Electronics, which is located in Seoul, Korea.
The LG Mobile Developer Network offers two levels of memberships to developers:
Developer member
Developer members receive access all developer resources, technical support, testing service, and communication channels.
Partner members (by invitation only)
Partner members receive access all developer resources, technical support, testing service, and communication channels and also get early access to resources on upcoming products.
LG Business Partners, including mobile operators, service providers, or content providers, who receive an invitation-email from LG can join as LG partner members. To register as an LG partner member, please contact us directly by email at devnet@lge.com.
To update your account details, take the following steps:
1. Login to the site.
2. Click the My Profile button in the Welcome section at the top right of the page.
At this time, only Java applications (MIDlet) can be downloaded onto your LG mobile phone for testing.
Your mobile service provider may charge you data-transfer fees. So, unless you have a data plan with unlimited data traffic for a fixed price, you will have to pay for the data traffic fees. Please contact your mobile service provider to inquire about the fees.
GPRS stands for “General Packet Radio Service.” GPRS is the 2.5 generation mobile handset standard that supports high-speed Internet and video communication. Contact your mobile service provider for GPRS settings.
The Forums are discussion boards where members write posts about specific topics. All the LG Mobile Developer Network members can read posts in the forum, while only registered members of the forum can write posts.
The community consists of several sub forums and the site administrator can create new sub forums for new topics. If you want to add a new sub forum, please contact the site administrator at
You can leave a community by clicking Quit Forum at the bottom of its community page. You will be asked to confirm if you want to leave the community.
Widgets are downloadable UI applications that perform some simple functions or provide information on a specific topic.
In order to share your widget with other developers, take the following steps:
1. Click the Upload Your Widget button on the Share Widgets page.
2. Read and accept the Agreement, fill out the upload form, and click the Submit button.
3. Click the List button on the detail view page of your widget or select My Quicklinks > My Uploads > My Widgets.
4. On the [Unshared Widgets] tab of the My Widgets page, select the widget you wish to share by checking it and click the Share button.
In order to unshare your widget, take the following steps:
1. Login and select My Quicklinks > My Uploads > My Widgets.
2. On the [Shared Widgets] tab of the My Widgets page, select the widget you wish to unshare by setting its checkmark and click the Unshare button.
Any developer interested in creating and delivering new mobile applications can submit their applications to LG. If you want to submit a business proposal to LG, feel free to contact us.
1. Before submitting your mobile application, please test your application for stability, functionality, and compatibility against LG mobile phones to avoid application rejections and testing failures. You can test your mobile application on remote devices through the LG Virtual Developer Lab or on your devices through the OTA download service.
2. Submit your application to LG for consideration. Login, go to Go To Market > Business Proposals, and click the Submit Your Application button. You have to provide detailed application information with your application.
3. Your submitted application will be reviewed and evaluated using our evaluation criteria. Applications that are determined to be a good fit for LG’s mobile business are tested internally to verify their functionality and usability.
4. After the evaluation and testing of your application is completed, we will send you an email regarding the result and the next step.
Once you submit your application and it is received, you will receive an email confirming the successful submission of your application. You cannot change any details of your application after receiving the confirmation email.
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a web content syndication format for sharing and distributing web content. RSS is based on eXtensible Markup Language (XML), the specialized web page language that provides structured data to Internet-based applications.
To receive the LG Mobile Developer Network's latest phones, docs & tools, or news & events through your RSS reader, you need to get the RSS feed address for the category you wish to read. On this web site, addresses are provided for each category, allowing you to copy them directly.
To add the RSS feeds to your RSS reader, click the RSS icon for the RSS feed you want to subscribe to, copy the URL from the address box of your Web browser, and paste it into your RSS feed reader. To add the RSS feeds to your iGoogle or My Yahoo! page, click the Google or My Yahoo icon for the RSS feed you want to subscribe to.
You can add RSS widgets that enable you to view the latest content on the LG Mobile Developer Network. Login to the site, select the My Page link in the Welcome section, and choose a category for an RSS Widget that you’d like to see the latest content. You can also configure the title and the number of feed items shown in an RSS Widget and move an RSS widget to another location on the page.
