[Widgets] LG SDK from LG Mobile Developer Network

Hello

I am new to programming mobile applications. I tried a small tutorial programme in C# and it worked on emulator in Visual Studio 2008. When I try t odeploy it on my LG GM735, it gave a deployment error

"The device security configuration disallowed the connection. Ensure that you have the appropriate certificates on your device for development. Review your SDK documentation for proper security settings for connecting to this device."

I have not seen any doc on the site regarding C# development on the phones. Is it possible to develop applications with C#. Specifically I am interested in image processing...

Morning,

I just revived my Vx8575 yesterday and would like to try my hand at developing widgets for the phone. I have the SDK installed and I'm learning the ropes now. How do I get the apps I develop to my phone. (verizon network)

I tried the 3 new methods you provide (with an empty one, or mine) and again, it does not work.

Are you sure it can work behind a proxy ?

Hello.

To solve the problem, try following.

1. Delete "wgt.dat"

2. Select "Refresh" in tool bar (if new "wgt.dat" is created, it will work well)

1. Select "Add widget" in Toolbar

2. Open "config.xml" and change netaccess value to yes

(e.q. <netaccess>yes</netaccess> )

3. Add following code

Hello,

The followings are the descriptions on the context menu of the Emulator window.

1. right-clic / Setting
Description
To convert a focused widget into widget setting screen by platform (widget player), call tmw_setting(). This can be emulated by selecting 'right-clic / Setting' context menu in the SDK.
Any display or function to be processed when the screen is being converted should be implemented in the body of tmw_setting().

Note: You must implement the display of setting screen in the body of tmw_setting(). Refer to the "Hello widget" sample.

API Syntax

void tmw_setting(void);

2. right-clic / Close
Description
To close a focused widget by platform (widget player), call tmw_close_window(). This can be emulated by selecting 'right-clic / Close' context menu in the SDK.
Any display or function to be processed when the screen is being closed should be implemented in the body of tmw_close_window().

Note: You must close the window explicitly by calling window.close() in the body of tmw_close_window(). Refer to the "Hello widget" sample.

API Syntax
void tmw_close_window(void);

3. right-clic / Minimize
Description
To iconize a focused widget by platform (widget player), call tmw_minimize(). This can be emulated by selecting 'right-clic / Minimize' context menu in the SDK.
Any display or function to be processed when the screen is being iconized should be implemented in the body of tmw_minimize().

Note: Use widget.window.resizeTo(width, height); in the body of tmw_minimize() to make the iconized screen visible. Refer to the "Hello widget" sample.

API Syntax
void tmw_minimize(void);

4. right-clic / Maximize
Description
To maximize a focused widget by platform (widget player), call tmw_maximize(). This can be emulated by selecting 'right-clic / Maximize' context menu in the SDK.
Any display or function to be processed when the screen is being maximized should be implemented in the body of tmw_maximize().

Note: Use widget.window.resizeTo(width, height); in the body of tmw_maximize() to make the maximized screen visible. Refer to the "Hello widget" sample.

API Syntax
void tmw_maximize(void);

For your reference, there is no limit to the size of minimizing and maximizing widgets in the SDK. (You can adjust the Emulator skin.) However, some LG phones that support widgets may restrict the max. and min. sizes of widgets according to the target specs.

We expect that the followings are available; display and functions in idle screen by widget minimizing, detailed and rich functions in full screen mode by widget maximizing, and widget preferences set by widget setting.

Description
Close and open a widget in the SDK. It differs from tmw_close_window().

6. right-clic / Forced Close
Description
Close a widget by force in the SDK. It differs from tmw_close_window().

Okay, actually here, I tried your solution that does not change anything, but I spoted that unlike all the other widget engine we develop on, if html/body background is not set to "transparent" in the css, your widget engine (at least the simulator one) would set a white background by default.

So, problem solved.

Hello,

As you have asked, tmw_minimize(), tmw_maximize(), and tmw_close_window() JavaScript functions are called for each menu. These are the entry points of minimizing, maximizing, and closing an activated widget in the Emulator.
